Many couples arrive here knowing something isn’t working the way they want, but unsure what would actually help.
This page is meant to help you slow down and think about how to begin.
There’s no pressure here to decide more than you’re ready for.
It’s common to feel unsure whether you should start by working together in sessions, or by taking time to get oriented first.
Most couples don’t know at the beginning what they’ll ultimately need.
Starting is not about finding the “right” answer.
It’s about choosing a first step that helps you think more clearly, rather than one that increases pressure or urgency.
Many couples find it helpful to begin with a video course.
Courses allow you to slow down, learn the framework I use in my work with couples,
and think carefully about your relationship at your own pace.
You can do a course on your own or together.
For some couples, it becomes enough on its own. For others, it helps make later sessions more productive by providing shared language and orientation.
Some couples prefer to begin by working together with me directly in sessions—especially if things feel stuck, overwhelming, or difficult to talk about without escalation.
My focus in sessions is not on quick techniques or communication scripts, but on understanding the real dilemmas you’re facing and helping you think your way through them more clearly.
If you’re feeling flooded, uncertain, or worried about making things worse, starting with a self-paced video course is often a gentler way to begin.
If you’re feeling stuck together, unable to talk without things escalating, or worried that something important is slipping away, starting with sessions may feel more supportive.
If you’re not sure, that’s okay. Many couples start with a course simply because it gives them time to get oriented before deciding what to do next.
When you’re ready, you can begin in either of these ways.
Both are valid starting points.
Or if you’re not sure, you can contact me directly.
Whichever way you begin, you’re not locking yourself into a long-term decision.
Starting is about getting oriented—not deciding everything at once.
